Ask Detention whether the booking ended in community release or transfer, then request the existing release entry from Records. No fixed local fee, response deadline, or special form was verified. Ask for an electronic copy and a cost estimate. For a state-prison release, use NCDAC OPI first, then submit a focused request through NCDAC Public Records for public admission, sentence, time-served, or release fields not resolved online.

Court staff hold the case file, judgment, disposition, bond, and release order. A court order can authorize release, but it does not replace the Sheriff's physical exit time or NCDAC's Actual Release Date.
